Solutions Architect

Codecov is the world’s leading code coverage tool. We are used by nearly a million software developers around the world, from marquee open source projects to the largest global companies.

Our team is lean (~15 people) and we are looking for an implementation engineer to provide the technical assistance needed to ensure that our largest customers can get the most out of our self-hosted product offering, Codecov Enterprise. This role is well suited to individuals that have previously worked as a solutions engineer, solutions architect, forward deployed engineer or other customer facing engineering role. Devops engineers with python experience and a history of or strong interest in doing customer work may also find this role particularly appealing.

We are a remote-first, globally distributed company, with team members located from GMT-8 to GMT+2.

The ideal candidate has:

  • A deep-rooted sense of empathy and desire to solve a customer’s needs.
  • Experience with Docker, Kubernetes, an IAC tool (Terraform preferred), and at least one major cloud provider (GCP, AWS, or Azure).
  • A proven history of interfacing directly with clients, not necessarily in an infrastructure engineering role.
  • A proven history of doing devops/IT related work on a non-trivial software product either internal to a company or (preferred) external facing clients.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills, as much of this role will be communicating directly with enterprise customers and our internal engineering team.
  • Hands on experience with at least one programming language. Python is preferred, but not required.

Day-to-day responsibilities include:

  • Directly interfacing with customers to solve challenging technical issues via our ticketing system, emails, slack conversations, and calls.
  • Adapting known installation techniques to the custom needs of each client.
  • Creating and maintaining our internal knowledge base related to the deployment of Codecov Enterprise in clients’ existing architecture.
  • Creating and maintaining any tooling, IAC, and other software tools to aid customers in the setup and use of Codecov Enterprise.
  • Assist the sales team in the early discovery and customer vetting process and ensuring the rough technical needs of the customer can be met.
  • Assist the customer during product installation, serving as a technical point of contact for all issues related to installation, network, infrastructure, etc.
  • Staying abreast of emerging technologies and methods for creating and supporting world-class on premises software deployments.
